Requesting License Keys
Note: This document assumes that you are familiar with the basics of GHS licenses and license keys. If you are not familiar with the terms on this page, you may want to read our licensing primer.
To request license keys, fill out as much of the information on the license request form as you can. Your email address is the most critical information because we use it to send you license keys. Try to supply a company-provided email address whenever possible because the use of free addresses like those ending in “yahoo.com,” “hotmail.com,” and “gmail.com” delay your request. For the machine-related information, be sure to provide information from the machine upon which you will install the license keys.
When filling out the form, you may not understand the meaning of some of the fields. Here is a table of those that we expect may not be clear; if you find other fields confusing, please let us know.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| License User Id | This is only relevant if you have received a license user ID from us with an earlier set of licenses. |
| Hostname* | The hostname of the machine onto which you will install the license keys. |
| Server Code* | The server code to which the license keys will be locked. |
| Alt Server Code* | An alternative server code to which the license keys may be locked (optional). |
| License Availability | The licensing model for the requested license keys. |
| Special Code | If you were provided with a special code for your licenses (this is not common), enter it here. |
| Release Name* | The name of the release you want to run. |
*This field is usually filled out automatically if you arrive at the license request form from the MULTI License Administrator.
